Back In 1973, Michael Snelson’s father opened Snelson PhotoColor Lab in Springville, Utah. After the photography studio he worked in burned down, he decided to start his own. Since then, the lab has been providing high quality photographic services to professional photographers in the area.

The lab is now run by his son Michael and is equipped to produce a variety of products. These include photo, canvas and metal prints, greeting cards and announcements, acrylic art and much more.
There are three exceptional things about Snelson PhotoColor Lab:
Expertise. The team consists of trained craftsmen with a wealth of knowledge and experience in producing the highest quality prints. Not only do these craftsmen understand the technicalities of the process, but they also understand the artistic aspects of photo processing.
Quality Products. Years of expertise coupled with professional grade materials make for very high quality products. Instead of using the thinner, consumer grade papers that are so common, Snelson PhotoColor Lab uses a thicker, more durable photographic paper.
In fact, the silver halide paper they use is the longest lasting photographic paper available according to scientific research.
Personalized Service. Perhaps just as important as the quality of the products is the quality of the service that customers receive. Unlike the majority in the industry, customer service is a priority for Snelson PhotoColor Labs.
They endeavor to get to know each photographer and understand his or her needs. In doing this, they are able to provide a personalized experience and exceed each customer’s expectations.
One customer commented: “Snelson PhotoColor Lab has been a family favorite for years! We are always amazed by their work and great customer service. Highly recommended.” Countless other customers have expressed the same sentiment.
The PhotoColor Lab isn't just for the pros.
For the most part, the lab markets to professional photographers. Yet, what most people don’t know is that they can also use these superb services. Snelson PhotoColor Lab welcomes both the pros and the average consumer, providing equally excellent customer experience to both.
One popular service that non-photographers in particular seem to love is the restoration service. Everyone has a few of those priceless, old family photos that are faded, torn or otherwise damaged.
However, they can be restored and retouched so that they look like new. As one customer puts it: “These guys know what they’re doing with photos. I have had them scan and retouch some precious oldies and they do an excellent job.” What is more, they do an excellent job at a fraction of the cost of other inferior restoration services.
It's clear that their goal is always to keep customers happy.
Another way they are currently doing this is by holding monthly photo contests. Each month has a different theme and allows photography enthusiasts and professionals alike to show off their skills. A winner is picked from the submissions each month and he or she receives free stuff. Who doesn’t like to win? And who doesn’t like free stuff?
Though they started only just recently, these photo contests have already proven to be a great way to get customers involved, excited and give them something to look forward to.
What's in store for the future?
Very soon, the lab will be offering photography classes. These classes will help photographers to hone their skills, making the end result of the printing process that much better.
For over 40 years, Snelson PhotoColor Lab has been serving the photography community in Utah. Over the years, the services offered there have only improved. That being so, it’s safe to say that longtime customers and new ones alike will be loyal advocates of the PhotoColor Lab for a long time to come.
